Who we are

Daniel and George Slimm started Perlins Community Project in 2009 and are a family organisation. We are linked with Perlins Project in Durley, Hampshire who have been running for over 20 years. We run as a social business.

Our aim is to provide healthy and meaningful opportunities for our project members. We strongly believe that being outdoors and reconnecting with nature is vital in modern life. Our new site reflects this idea,  and although close to the centre of Winchester, it is a peaceful haven that we look forward to sharing.

Our Purpose
We support project members to share their skills, be involved in their local community and promote positive messages about people with learning disabilities.

To give members of the project the opportunity to take an integral role in the development and day to day organisation of the project. We are all recognised as equal and each individual has the opportunity to make a valued contribution to the group.

Who is the service for?
The Project is designed to meet the needs of Adults with Learning Disabilities, Complex needs, Asperger syndrome and Autism. We aim to change people’s expectations of themselves by using a person centred approach, to encourage each individual to develop independent, social and work skills with a real sense of control and purpose. We support people to set realistic and measurable targets with clear outcomes, which enables them to realise their potential.
