Springtime Open Our Eyes Its In Front Of Us!
At the start of spring we had an aim to build a Pergola at the allotment. We used sweet chestnut poles to create it.
A red kiwi and a red grape was planted to climb up the structure.
The Vegetable beds have been redesigned in the Winter ready for some Spring time planning.
It’s been a busy spring at our allotment. We’ve had some interesting weather including the hottest May on record! Project Members have really enjoyed planting lots of vegetables and watering and watching them grow.

For the first time we planted Chickpeas in our three sisters plan with Sweetcorn, Blue Winter Squash and companion planting! To deter the rats from the tasty sweetcorn cobs we will use strong scented plants Thyme, Lemon grass, Mint and Spring Onion!
